Ok guys, I made a mistake and should have asked for your character sheets on Sunday (all except for Scooter who DIDN'T BRING IT).
This is because this Play by Post will work much like the Play by Posts of yesteryear, where I will handle all of the rolls and mechanics, while you will determine how your characters act. In the case of a bad roll, I will generally pm you and ask if you want to drop a Drama Die on the roll, though you can certainly say something along the lines of "I will perform X action (and spend as many Drama Die as necessary to make it work).
When it comes to combat actions, PbPs can be, and often are, odd ducks. I have run this a gamut of ways, where the player narrates their action, I test it, and then I copy paste their description if the roll succeeds into a long combat round description, taking into account all of the other actions that happen. I have also run it where the player simply tells me the action they'd like to accomplish, and then I write the entire combat myself. This latter is what I'd like to avoid at all costs. You guys aren't here to see me write a bunch of cool stuff. You're here to be the stars. That said I really don't see this climax having much in the way of combat, but since you are all free to do whatever you want, I want to set the ground rules.
This is what I would like to do: Instead of resolving entire halves of combat rounds myself, as I roll them, what I would like to do is this: Normally when I would say "Feel free to take your actions for Phases X-Y", what I will now do is say, "Please PM me your preferred actions for Phases X-Y", expecting a nondescriptive list of actions you want to take. Then, once I have an idea of what you would like to do for that half, I will make the rolls, and PM you back with your results. Then you should write descriptions for your character's reactions in another PM, and I will copypaste that response into my combat narrative for everyone to enjoy.
This will guarantee good fortune-in-the-middle writing, however I understand that multiple PMs flying back and forth, particularly during a typically grueling PbP, can slow things down a bit, so I will simply give everyone a TBD time limit to address all of their actions and reactions. If I don't get them by the time limit, then I will write out their combat actions for them (assuming I know what their plan was. If they don't give me a plan in a timely fashion, then the combat will end, with their loss, and being knocked unconscious).
