Consorzio: Di Castelliano Exporters
Specialty: Buying and Selling
Assets: Underworld Connections
Dangers: Acragan ethnicity, No legal protection
The Di Castelliano Exporters are a wealthy and powerful Consorzio in Amozare, whose success would inspire respect from their peers if it weren't for one, lingering problem which they cannot get rid of. Unlike the other wealthy and powerful families of Vodacce, they are not of Numan ethnicity, but rather they trace their lineage back to the Acragans of the Castillian Peninsula. In fact, they are distant cousins of the powerful Aldana family. The arrival of the family in Vodacce, however, was fairly recent, a mere 50 years ago. And though Prince Bernoulli allowed the Castillian patriarch, Armando Rivera (after a sizeable donation) to change their Castillian family name to one that made them stand out less in Amozare, the Vodacce prickliness about naming conventions limited them to a name that, while Vodacce in sound, still proclaims their heritage to all.
Thus, the Di Castelliano Exporters are, and will always be, outsiders in Amozare. However, this weakness can also be a strength. Cut off from influence with any one Princely patron, the Di Castelliano Exporters were free to extend their influence into Amozare's extensive underworld. As a result, though all families must sometimes turn to subterfuge to accomplish their goals, few can boast abilities in the same league as the Di Castellianos. Whether they need something stolen, someone roughed up or killed, or a specific shipment harried by bandits, without the crime being traceable back to them, no one has access to the networks of scum and villainy the Di Castellianos can bring to bear to solve the problem.
Unfortunately, their lack of friends in high, or even medium places means they have zero immunity from the law. If their extensive criminal connections were ever uncovered, they would be purged from Amozare with great (and gleeful) prejudice by the Numans who surround them.
Critical Weakness: They enjoy zero immunity from the law of Amozare, and therefore their extensive criminal connections are a blessing and a curse.
Example Bravo Captain: Castillian Fencer, or Brutal Assassin
Example Courtesan: Brothel madame
Example Consiglieri: Vodacce relation by marriage, Crime boss
